Since I’ve become an internet marketer,

I believe my most commonly asked question by entrepreneurs is “What is the easiest way to market on the Internet?” Truth is, learning how to market on the internet is not as hard as you may think. In fact, the main struggle most people have once they know what to do, is their consistency. I should know. I’m guilty of the very same pitfall. In the beginning of my marketing career, I was excited to learn the concepts needed to build my online business.

It didn’t take long for me to recognize

that learning how to market on the internet wasn’t rocket science. Once you’ve grasped the concepts, all that’s left to do is “Flood the internet” with your content! You see, It is important to be committed to getting as much of your content possible, on the World Wide Web. Therefore you must be consistent. The goal is to leave footprints leading back to your website, which results in the sale of your product or service.

Once you are able to allow your mind to grasp that one very important fact, the next question is… “How do I do that?” During your marketing efforts it is important to have a large number of links (footprints) leading back to your website. I am sure you can imagine that without an army of team members working together to assist you in your efforts, the process could take a very long time. Literally a lifetime! Knowing that your competitors have the same goals or may even have a head start in their marketing efforts can also be an unsettling feeling. Still the question is…..

Where do I begin to learn how to market on the internet?

I’m sure you’ve heard that Facebook is a great place to advertise, you may have even dabbled a little bit with Twitter… but, if you are like most, you have no clue what you should be doing or where you should begin! I am confident you would prefer a competitive edge while learning how to market on the internet…. Right? Let’s admit it, online marketing can seem to be a bit intimidating at first glance.

What does it mean to Come Up Online?

I plan to answer that in just a moment but first. I would like to share a little about me. I think it would give you insight into what it means for me to come up online. I would like to keep it “one hundred.” (Be honest with you) I am not from a prestigious nor middle class family. I grew up in a single parent household where it was difficult to add any luxuries into our lives. So you see, we didn’t take vacations and I didn’t always get to rock the” Latest Gear.” (Latest Fashions) Therefore as soon as I turned 16 I got a job. It was time for a “come up.” (Rise to the top financially)

I kept that mindset my entire life. I have always believed that you must work hard in order to have anything in life. Especially, since “working hard” is what I saw everyone around me doing. Fast forward a few years… I too, was a single parent. I’m thankful to have worked hard enough to obtain a few decent paying jobs, which gave me the income to move up to “middle class.” I actually thought I was doing ok, for someone without a college degree. I must keep it one hundred though. I hated my job. Sound familiar?

I hated my job so much that I decided to enroll into college. I’m sure most people can relate. Because I was already in the Financial Service Industry at the time, it made sense to go to college for Business Finance. I figured since my job provided tuition reimbursement, I might as well take advantage of the perks. I figured certainly I would be well on my way to a serious come up. My plan was to finish my degree and get a job in a department that didn’t consist of harassing customers for payments and sending out the repo man. I had big plans of moving up the Corporate America ladder.

I became a college drop out. Yes, let’s fast forward a little bit more. I became a college dropout. After carefully paying attention to what was happening in our economy, it was safe to say, I wouldn’t obtain the come up I had dreamed from the Financial Services Industry. It was obvious the recession was making it difficult for most people to pay their bills. Banks were laying off right & left! This meant job availability was limited to the collections department. There was no way I would get stuck in the collections department my entire life. I decided to quit college. I figured at this point in my life, I had to be strategic if I truly wanted the come up I had been dreaming over the years. I figured life is sort of like playing chess. You must anticipate your opponent’s next moves. In my mind my opponent was the economy.

I discovered the internet.

It was obvious that the recession forced everyone to revamp their businesses or find innovative ways to go into business for themselves. I was one of them. In my opinion the internet was growing more attractive by the day. Facebook and Twitter have become household names and it was becoming difficult to find a commercial on television without the Facebook logo. As I stated earlier strategy was instrumental to my come up. Learning to market online in my opinion was a must. I figured if I could learn the strategies needed to get people to come to a website, I could most definitely sell any product or service I chose. The formula was pretty simple. The only thing left for me to do, was to learn the strategies needed to obtain traffic to my website and decide what product or service I wanted to bring to the market place. I had to find my niche. It was that simple.

I finally found my niche.

Deciding on a niche didn’t come overnight for me. (Keeping it one hundred) At first I was completely clueless. I made the decision however, that whatever I chose, it would most definitely have to be something I enjoyed doing. After all this was the road I was going to travel in order to ultimately achieve my come up. This meant I had to really believe in it. One thing was for sure, I believed in the power of the internet. As a matter of fact, I can recall listening to the song, Made in America (Watch The Throne Album by Kanye West & Jay-Z) for the very first time. It definitely got my attention for many reasons. The two biggest reasons “Made in America” got my attention was from the following two statements by Kanye West.

1. “I told my mama I was on the come up. She said, “You going to school, I’ll give you a summer.” Then she met No I.D. and gave me his number. Ten years later she’s driving a hummer.”

2. Started a little blog just to get some traffic. Old folks’ll tell you not to play in traffic. A million hits and the web crashes, damn!

Hearing a chart topping, successful musician talk about the success he had achieved by starting a blog on the internet excited me even more.It was official. I was confident I would achieve success online. Kanye West was giving his audience one of the key strategies he used in order to get much of his success. I couldn’t agree with him more. By the release of the album Watch The Throne, I too had received successful results through blogging. For me, it just made sense to develop my niche around helping others to gain the same knowledge & strategies that I was able to obtain in order to better assist me on my journey to a brighter future. If you are just a tad bit curious about strategies you can implement today in order to Come Up Online. I would like to empower you to join forces with me as well as others who would like to help you with those strategies along your way.

First, I would like to say thank you so much for stopping by. I appreciate you taking the time out of your day to spend a portion of it with me. It’s amazing how quickly time flies… It has almost been a year since I leaped into entrepreneurship. I honestly believe this was the fastest year of my life. I’ve always heard time flies when you are having fun… I don’t believe I’ve ever heard the expression time flies when you are trying to get something accomplished! But it definitely does! lol!

You know, It isn’t rocket science. If you want different results in your life you must do something different. Although that statement seems so simple, most people, including myself do a great job of making it very complex. For most of us, doing something different takes too much effort. Therefore many of us stay on the treadmill of “Same old crap just a different day,” while taking refuge in our daily complaints of how much our lives suck! Sound familiar?

For me, those things were all too familiar. To be honest, they became part of my daily routine. Yikes! I was becoming one of them! You know, one of those people who just complain… complain… complain… but are too damn weak, lazy, or what ever you want to call it to do anything about it.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying I’m better than anyone but I know I’m better than that! So, you know what came next… I took that big leap of faith into entrepreneurship. What a leap it was! While taking my leap of faith, I made a few sacrifices. Visit my about me page to find out about a few of them.

Funny how quickly things can change within a year. A year ago, I began this journey seeking entrepreneurship. However, as I look back on this past year, I realize embarking on my quest for entrepreneurship  has become more of a quest of  learning myself.   Although, I still have a ways to go, my sense of awareness has increased like no other. I am now more aware of many of my strengths as well as weaknesses. This new found awareness has propelled me to a great hunger for greatness.  Yes! Greatness! For me, Living a life of Greatness, Is living a life with purpose and fulfillment. (Something I didn’t know existed a year ago)

I’m blown away when I think of how much I’ve learned.  One important lesson I’ve learned over the past year is “Greatness” can not be accomplished alone. Big Surprise right? So simple but yet again I know how to make something so simple become so complex. You see, I have always had this controlling nature. For some reason, I have always felt the need to be in control of everything. As if there is truly such a thing! Allowing someone other than myself to do something for me did not exist. I always felt there was something attached to it. I have always felt the need to put up this wall and protect myself from the world. In all actuality the person I truly needed to protect myself from has always been myself! Let me explain a little. Due to being in many situations in the past in which I felt I didn’t have control, I made a promise to myself to always stay in control. It truly didn’t matter what it was. For instance, when issues were to arise with my immediate family I would always find myself consumed with their issues while struggling to get a grasp on the many things that I need to do. (still a  work in progress)  Needless to say, My priorities would be put on the back burner and the other issues would always take precedence. I’m sure you can imagine how that would turn out. Can you say self sabotage? To make matters worse, I realized I was sabotaging myself in just about every area of my life.

  • Finances (Spending more than I was making most times)
  • Spiritual Relationship ( What Relationship)
  • Health (Struggling with same unwanted weight gain)
  • Family (Remaining a crutch.. Playing Superwoman)
  • Love Life (Non Existing)

Getting a little personal I know…. but so true. You see, choosing to travel a different path consequently threw me into a circle of people who were totally different than what I was used to and as a result increased my awareness of my own self sabotage.  In case you are not aware, “Awareness” is the first step. It’s impossible to work on a problem that you aren’t aware that you have in the first place! Sadly, this is where most people spend life. (Unaware in the Matrix)

Bottom line life is all about choices. My life is a direct reflection of choices I have made. Whether good or bad, the choices I have made show up in my life. Because, I was unhappy with my results I chose to make moves and I continue to do so. In my opinion we should always continue to be a work in progress. Becoming a better me will always be on my list of  ”Things to Do.” Therefore it’s important for me to reposition myself  as many times as necessary to reach what I aspire, a life of fulfillment and purpose. A few of the things that have helped me have been seeking solutions instead of spending time complaining, committing to learning, and taking action.

You too can add becoming a better you onto your list of “things to do.” All you have to do is Keep it Simple by making a choice to get started and take action.  We may or may not have similar issues however, there is one thing I believe is for sure. There is always room for improvement. ;)

How many times have you felt you could have a particular moment for life? I don’t know about you, but for me, to feel that I can have a particular moment in life means life must be phenomenal in every area. It’s quite funny that most of us can’t begin to entertain the thought of having a phenomenal life in every area. We say we want it, but to be honest we truly do not have faith that it can truly happen. We become complacent with the same old day to day routine with no faith or work in place to make our dreams a reality. This is exactly why most live a life of mediocrity. Many of us are broke busted and disgusted and our children do not look up to or respect us. We then begin to wonder why! Pay close attention…. The people our children begin to look up to are living by simple principles. Whether you like it or not, their role models are in Hollywood! (The Entertainment World) Pay attention! For example, I actually took the time to listen to the lyrics on one of my daughter’s cd’s Nicki Minaj to be exact.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Nicki Minaj Moment 4 life lyrics

I fly with the stars in the skies, I am no longer trying to survive, I believe that life is a prize, but to live doesn’t mean you’re alive. Don’t worry about me and who I fire, I get what I desire, it’s my empire, And yes, I call the shots I am the umpire, I sprinkle holy water upon the vampire. In this very moment I’m king. In this very moment I slayed Goliath with the sling. This very moment I bring put it on everything, that I will retire with the ring

And I will retire with the crown, Yes! No I’m not lucky I’m blessed, Yes! Clap for the heavyweight champ, Me! But I couldn’t do it all alone, We! Young Money raised me, grew up out in Baisley. Southside Jamaica, Queens and it’s crazy! Cause I’m still hood, Hollywood couldn’t change me. Shout out to my haters, sorry that you couldn’t faze me.

Ain’t being cocky, we just vindicated Best believe that when we done this moment will be syndicated I don’t know, this night just remind me of Everything they deprived me of. Put your drinks up It’s a celebration every time we link up We done did everything they could think of. Greatness is what we on the brink of…. I wish that I could have this moment 4 life…4 life…4 life…. Cause in this moment I just feel so alive… alive… alive.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

After listening to those lyrics I’m not surprised she has a huge fan base from our kids. She sounds exactly like someone who set some goals and made the decision to make it happen by any means necessary. Failure was not an option! She decided to fly with the stars in the sky! In other words roll with people who could help her drive her vehicle to success. She decided she would be the best! She stated she was the king and slayed Goliath with the sling. There was no giant too big for her to slay! She acknowledges that she’s blessed gave a shout out to her haters and states they couldn’t faze her! Wow!!! No wonder my daughter likes Nicki Minaj!  It’s funny how it’s so easy for us to point the finger at everything that is wrong with other people who have become successful instead of paying attention to their work ethic and the principles in which they live by. Bottom line, you may or may not like Nicki Minaj. You may hate her music. You may believe she is a bad example for our youth. At the end of the day, she has produced fruit. Her fruit is the major reason she has such a voice. It’s important that we too as parents begin to produce fruit so that we will eventually have the louder voice. Enjoy the video and continue to Get Better, Be Better, Do Better. ;)

Much Success,
